Dr Subhajit Basu elected as Chair of the British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association

Associate Professor in the School of Law has been elected as Chair of the British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association (BILETA) for the next three years.

BILETA was formed in April 1986 to promote, develop and communicate high quality research and knowledge on information technology law and policy to organisations, government, professionals, students and the public throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. BILETA also promotes the use of technology in legal education. It is one of the largest and oldest technology law associations in Europe.

Dr Basu hopes to use his time as the Chair to strengthen the role of BILETA in tackling the biggest challenges presented by emerging technologies including the internet.

The 33rd Annual BILETA Conference was held at the University of Aberdeen from Monday 9 - Wednesday 11 April 2018.
