Celebrating the Class of 2025: A Global School of Law Graduation

Over 440 graduates from across the world marked their achievement with a day of tradition and celebration at the University of Leeds School of Law.
A meaningful milestone in a historic setting
Graduation Day 2025 was a proud and memorable occasion at the University of Leeds School of Law, as students gathered to celebrate the end of their studies and the beginning of their next chapters. The ceremonies took place in the University’s iconic Great Hall, a building with over 130 years of history and tradition.
Over 440 students from countries across the globe, including Canada, China, Ghana, India, and Malaysia, were awarded their degrees in front of supportive families, friends, and academic staff. It was a moment to recognise years of commitment, growth, and achievement.

A warm celebration in the Liberty Building
Between the ceremonies, graduates and guests were welcomed throughout the day at the Liberty Building, which was transformed into a vibrant and celebratory Graduation Fair. The space offered a relaxed and welcoming environment where graduates could reconnect with classmates, lecturers, and professional support staff.
The event created an opportunity for informal farewells, relaxed conversations, and the sharing of achievements with loved ones. The day also featured professional photography, commemorative School of Law merchandise, refreshments, and personal messages from academic staff and senior leaders.

Reflecting on the day, Professor Alex Nicholson, Director of Student Education, said:
We are incredibly proud of all our graduates. They have shown dedication, resilience, and curiosity throughout their time with us, and it has been a real privilege to watch them grow. We look forward to seeing the impact they go on to make in the world.
A truly international community
The Class of 2025 reflects the global nature of the School of Law community. Graduates represented a diverse range of countries, cultures, and legal interests, and many will now go on to careers in legal practice, policy, advocacy, academia, and international organisations.
As they take their next steps, these graduates carry with them not only legal knowledge but a lasting connection to the School and to the wider University of Leeds community.

Stay connected
Graduation is not the end of the journey. School of Law alumni are encouraged to stay connected, share their achievements, and continue engaging with the School and its global network.
