School of Law success in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2025
The School of Law places 78th in the world, consolidating its place in the top 100 for Law.
The School’s world-class reputation has been affirmed in the 2025 edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject.
Widely regarded as a trusted independent measure of institutional performance, the THE rankings evaluate research-intensive universities across five core areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook. This year’s edition includes 389 universities, up from 329 last year.
The Head of the School of Law, Professor Louise Ellison, said:

The School of Law’s achievement reflects the University of Leeds’ continued success across the international league tables, moving up six places to 123rd in the THE World University Rankings 2025 and 82nd in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
