Are you ready to broaden your academic and cultural horizons? The School of Law is excited to announce that applications for the 2025/26 Study Abroad programme are now open until 11 November 2024. This is your chance to enrich your legal education, immerse yourself in new cultures, and gain a global perspective on law.
On 25 September 2024, as part of Induction Week, Dr Virág Blazsek, the School of Law’s Study Abroad Coordinator, delivered a highly engaging presentation for first-year students on global learning opportunities. Additionally, she hosted a session for second-year law students on 2 October 2024, where she introduced the variety of study abroad options available at the University of Leeds. These presentations were met with enthusiasm, sparking excitement about the prospect of studying law internationally. Dr Blazsek shared inspiring stories from past participants and outlined the application process for the upcoming programme.
Why Study Abroad?
Enhance your employability skills:
Overall, my experience was incredibly enriching. It taught me how to be an effective team player and manage negotiations professionally – skills that I’ll carry into my career.
See your degree from a new perspective:
Learning about European law made me rethink how different legal systems interact. It’s something I hadn’t fully appreciated while studying the English legal system in Leeds.
Immerse yourself in a new culture:
The chance to travel and become more culturally competent was a unique opportunity. It opened my eyes to how diverse the world of law can be.
Build a global network:
My programme not only strengthened my language skills, but also connected me with friends and professional contacts from around the world. It was an unforgettable experience.
Develop independence:
Studying abroad made me far more independent. It’s an experience I’ll cherish for life, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to challenge themselves.
