School of Law signs exciting new agreement with ECUPL in China

The School of Law has signed an exciting new agreement with one of China’s top universities, East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL).

ECUPL is regarded as one of the best law schools in Shanghai and their excellent students will now be able to study here in Leeds, further enriching our global school community.

The agreement will allow students to study for two years in China at ECUPL and two years here at Leeds. After the four years graduates will have a solid grounding in both Chinese and UK law, and receive LLB degrees from both ECUPL and Leeds. This will give them an edge in an increasingly globalised world, with graduates who have international experience being highly sought after by employers.

It is hoped that if the new route proves successful then similar arrangements could be offered to students across the globe allowing more people to benefit from an education from the University of Leeds and enhancing the overall student experience at the School of Law.

Our Director of Internationalisation Professor Roger Halson, said: “We have worked hard to develop deep links with ECUPL and this new LLB route will allow students in both ECUPL and Leeds to receive a truly global education.”

The first students on this new route are due to join us in 2021 and we look forward to welcoming them.
