Andrew Francis and Lydia Bleasdale will be discussing their research into the challenges and opportunities faced by millennials entering the legal profession.
This event is jointly hosted by the School of Law, University of Leeds and the Leeds Law Society.
Building on an online survey conducted last summer, four focus groups were held in September and October 2017, with millennials, partners, supervisors and HR managers, meeting to discuss their experiences of working in the legal profession in Leeds and Yorkshire and issues that specifically related to millennials in the workplace.
The University team have now completed an in-depth Research Report, entitled “Millennial Lawyers: Challenges and Opportunities for Law Firms in Leeds”, which draws on this data and the open, honest and revealing conversations in the focus groups.
The aim of the Report is to reflect on the experiences and pressures of the modern legal workforce, in order to explore issues and to make recommendations working practices that will benefit firms, employees and client relationships.
The launch of the Report will take place on 26 September 2018 with a presentation from Andrew Francis and Lydia Bleasdale of the School of Law at the University of Leeds and the sponsor of the event Bailey Hunter (Legal Recruitment Specialists). This will be followed by a chance to ask questions and discuss the Report’s findings.
Leeds Law Society is going to run a series of workshops and events which will look to tackle the underlying issues that the Report has identified and more information about this will be given at the event on 26 September 2018.
There will be refreshments and nibbles available from 7pm (kindly sponsored by Bailey Hunter (Legal Recruitment Specialists) and there will be an opportunity to network).
Spaces will be limited and priority will be given to members of Leeds Law Society so please register your interest early to avoid disappointment.
