Cross-border Insolvency Law: Reconciling the Global and the Local?

Business is global and yet law is local. What are some of the issues that a local insolvency law needs to address when a global business is bankrupt?

This seminar will address the Australian cross-border insolvency laws, including avenues to facilitate cooperation and coordination between concurrent proceedings. It will also discuss a case currently on appeal process that deals with the vexed question of local tax claims against funds pending remission to the foreign COMI where such claims are not admissible.
