Between Competition and Regulation: Taming Online Platforms and Intermediaries
The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Digital Governance hosted by the Centre for Business Law and Practice at the University of Leeds (jointly with Erasmus University Rotterdam and Bar Ilan University) is organising a hybrid international conference on the interface of competition law and regulation in online platform markets. Against the backdrop of the rising power of tech giants and their online platforms, a number of developments over the past few years have blurred the line between ex ante regulation and ex post competition enforcement.
The conference brings together a mix of experts from various disciplines – law, economics, computer science, and management – to discuss the need for and the available tools for taming online platforms and intermediaries.
The keynote address will be delivered by the European Commission’s Director-General for Competition, Olivier Guersent.

Moot Court Room, Liberty Building, School of Law, University of Leeds
