Applications for the 2024 International Summer School are open until 11:59pm on Tuesday 30th April 2024!

Every academic year, the University of Leeds School of Law distributes generous £1000-£3000 scholarships to students participating in international summer school programmes globally.

The International Summer School Programmes offer a spectrum of unique courses, ranging from language and culture to specialized studies in law and business.

A summer school (…) is a great opportunity to widen your horizons by not only meeting people from many different cultures, but to also learn about a topic that you may not otherwise cover in your degree.

In addition to gaining unique learning opportunities and specialised knowledge, these programmes provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, equipping students with essential skills for their future careers.

I enjoyed meeting students and academics from across the world to hear different global perspectives and broaden my worldview.

Last year, students explored a variety of programmes at top universities globally, enabling them to develop various skill sets. Intensive language and culture courses allowed them to refine communication and intercultural skills, while specialised studies in law and business provided industry-specific insights. Team leadership, negotiation management, and exposure to cutting-edge topics like Digital Law encouraged collaborative, strategic thinking. Additionally, engaging with diverse perspectives allowed them to develop adaptability and a global mindset, highly valued by employers today.

Overall, my experience (…) was very enriching. Both modules were very interesting and have equipped me with lifelong skills of how to be a strong team player and manage disagreements and negotiations in a professional way. My experience was culturally enriching too as I made friends and connections with students from all across the globe, from countries such as Germany, Italy, America and Norway.
