School of Law student awarded two Scholarships

School of Law student Freyja Mcloughlin has been awarded two Scholarships by Middle Temple; one of the four Inns of Court which have the exclusive right to Call students to the Bar.

Law LLB undergraduate student Freyja Mcloughlin has been offered both the Black Stone Exhibition Scholarship and the prestigious Queen Mother’s Scholarship which is intended to assist outstanding candidates.

We asked Freyja who had inspired her during her time at Leeds.

Marika Hildebrandova (Senior Employability and Placements Officer) has been so helpful during my time at Leeds and offered me so much advice.

"Professor Paul Wragg has also been a real inspiration and his enthusiasm and knowledge for media law has helped me develop a real passion for the area.

“Finally, Professor Nick Taylor, who was my dissertation supervisor and has always been such a friendly and reassuring member of the School.”

Freyja decided to study Law at Leeds after being made to feel so welcome by everyone in the Liberty Building on her offer holder day and loving the feel of the campus. She now hopes to become a commercial barrister practicing in London.

Professor Paul Wragg told us, "I'm so pleased to hear that Freyja has been awarded this prestigious scholarship. She has a gift for media law and has worked extremely hard to achieve it. I'm sure she will be incredibly successful in the future. Certainly, she deserves to be".
