Outputs and resources
We co-create a diverse range of outputs that reflect our commitment to imaginative, inclusive and evidence-informed educational practice. These include research and scholarship publications, open educational resources, creative tools, living books and collaborative artefacts that support educators, students and partners in exploring new possibilities for teaching, learning and curriculum design.
Open Educational Resources
Open living book publications
Imagine: An open, living Pressbook edited by the Imaginative Curriculum Research and Scholarship Centre that brings together creative, inclusive, and practical ideas to energise teaching and inspire learning for all across the education sector. The book is a collaborative project that invites educators, researchers, and students to share imaginative curriculum practices, reflections, and experimentations. As an open and evolving resource, Imagine actively welcomes new contributions and aims to support educators across contexts to explore curiosity, creativity, and possibility in learning and teaching. Have a look at Imagine as it grows and read about the submissions already included. The book will be arranged in alphabetical order of ideas.
Making open happen: Creativity, Collaboration and Change in Higher Education: This open living book grew out of a rich panel discussion hosted during Open Education Week 2026, where colleagues from across the University shared their experiences with Open Educational Resources and wider open educational practice. Inspired by the diversity of ideas and the collective energy in that conversation, we created this collaborative space to capture, extend and deepen those insights. Coedited by the Imaginative Curriculum Research and Scholarship Centre, the Knowledge Equity Network and the University of Leeds Libraries, the book welcomes short, creative and media-rich contributions that reflect the evolving landscape of open education and invite our community to shape it together.
Learning with AI: An open living Pressbook and research project studying how students are using AI in their learning. Ethics in place until 2028. The project was supported by the DVC Student Education and Dean of Online and Digital Learning. 2024/25: Team consisted of two DES Innovation Ambassadors, students as co-editors 2024/25: Olivia Davies and Amani Ahsan, 2025/26 student editors: Zachary Chai and Mark Grattan. Supported by a team of staff led by Chrissi Nerantzi, School of Education, Richard de Blacquiere-Clarkson, Organisational Development and Professional Learning, Kirstine McDermid, Library, Damian McDonald, Digital Education Service, Thom Freeth, Knowledge Equity Network, John Palfreyman, Leeds University Business School.
Meraki: An open living Pressbook that brings together pedagogic curiosities, reflections, and scholarship exploring imaginative and transformative approaches to teaching and learning. Developed as a living resource, MERAKI invites educators, researchers, and students to share ideas, experimentations, and practices that matter to them. Part 2 of the book offers an open invitation for future contributions, welcoming new voices and perspectives to help the collection grow over time as a collaborative space for imaginative curriculum scholarship.
