The Imaginative Curriculum Research and Scholarship Centre works with a wide range of partners, both within the University and across the wider educational landscape. Through these collaborations we explore new ideas, cocreate innovative practices and add value in ways that help us make a meaningful difference to learners, educators and communities.

Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence: The Imaginative Curriculum Research and Scholarship Centre collaborates closely with the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE) and its themed Incubators, which bring colleagues together to develop impactful pedagogical research and innovation. Through this partnership we aim to contribute to evidence-informed educational enhancement, connect with multidisciplinary communities across the University, and explore opportunities to cocreate work that supports meaningful change in student education.

Organisational development and Professional Learning: We work in partnership with Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL), who support staff and postgraduate researchers across the University to develop the skills, confidence and practices that underpin an inclusive, evidence-informed educational culture. Through this collaboration, we connect imaginative curriculum work with OD&PL’s broad development offer, exploring opportunities to cocreate resources, enhance digital and pedagogic capabilities, and contribute to a thriving learning community at Leeds.

Digital Education: We work closely with Digital Education at Leeds, whose expertise in learning design, online pedagogy and technology enhanced education helps create transformative, inclusive and accessible learning experiences. Through this collaboration, we connect imaginative curriculum design with cutting-edge digital innovation, exploring opportunities to codevelop engaging online courses, interactive learning resources and evidence informed approaches that enrich teaching and learning across the University.

Knowledge Equity Network: We collaborate with this global initiative co-founded by the University of Leeds and the University of Pretoria. Knowledge Equity Network (KEN) is committed to reducing inequalities by widening access to knowledge and fostering open, collaborative practices across higher education. Grounded in its Declaration on Knowledge Equity, KEN brings together institutions, organisations, and individuals who believe that tackling global challenges requires equitable, barrier-free knowledge sharing. The network promotes a cultural shift from competition to collaboration by convening forums, discussions, and solution-focused events that empower its diverse community to exchange ideas, cocreate strategies, and advance openness, accessibility, and inclusion in research and education. Through this collective effort, KEN works toward a fairer world in which knowledge is shared for the common good.

Creativity for learning in higher education community (#creativeHE): We work in close collaboration with the international, award-winning Creativity for Learning in Higher Education community (#creativeHE). Together, we create opportunities for educators and students to connect globally, share practices and experiment with imaginative approaches to curriculum design. As part of this partnership, we now offer joint online meetups, bringing colleagues together to exchange ideas, explore pedagogic experimentations and spark new collaborations across educational contexts. Recordings of these shared sessions are available via the #creativeHE–ICRSC YouTube playlist, extending access and enabling ideas to travel further.

Coimbra Education Innovation Group: The Imaginative Curriculum Research and Scholarship Centre is a member of the Coimbra Group’s Education Innovation Working Group, part of Europe’s oldest network of long-established, research-intensive universities. The Coimbra Group fosters collaboration, internationalisation and the exchange of best practices across its member institutions, supporting innovation in teaching, learning and curriculum design. Through our involvement in the Education Innovation Working Group, we contribute to shared projects, sector-wide dialogue and collective efforts to shape the future of higher education across Europe. add here Link to website:

Curious learning: We are collaborating with Curious Learning, a global nonprofit organisation committed to open education, curiosity-driven learning and equity. United by shared values of creativity, curiosity and openness, we found common ground in our belief that Open Educational Resources (OER) can act as powerful connectors across cultures and contexts. Our first joint initiative, Together, is an open book originally funded by GOGN, now being developed into an interactive, multilingual OER for young readers. Through this collaboration, we are exploring how imaginative curriculum design and scalable, open literacy resources can come together to create meaningful learning opportunities for educators and learners worldwide.

eLearning Lab: We are collaborating with the eLearning Lab, Department of Public Education, University of Crete in Greece. The collaboration has so far focused on the cocreation of OER that can be used for curriculum conversations with students and teachers across the education sector. The flashcard set Navigating our AI Odyssey: Learning, teaching and collaborating is available in English and Greek. We are also exploring opportunities for further collaboration in research and scholarship.
