Men's Mental Health Awareness Month events

EDI Teams within LUBS, AHC and FSS are hosting three events to raise awareness of Men's Mental Health in November.
Two of these events will take place in-person on Tuesday 19 November 2024. These are a panel event open to all staff in any of the three faculties of LUBS, AHC and Social Sciences, and a scavenger hunt event open to all students and staff within the three faculties.
The third and final event will be a repeat of the in-person panel event and will be held online on Friday 22 November 2024. This session will also be recorded.

1. ‘What does mental health mean to me?’ – in-person event
Open to all AHC, LUBS and FSS Staff

In-person panel event followed by Q&A .
Panellists include:
- Dylan Bhandal, Leeds Mental Health and Wellbeing Service,
- Richard Beanland, UoL Estates Office
- Binna Kandola, Visiting Professor and consultant.
Panellists will be sharing their lived experience of mental health, the cultural barriers and intersectionalities they have faced as well as support that they received.
2. Scavenger hunt
Open to all LUBS, AHC and FSS Students and Staff

30-minute scavenger hunt across central campus points to explore different health and wellbeing spaces, followed by a 20-minute presentation to understand the support available for staff and students from UoL, Wellbeing Safety and Health, and LUU. Interactive activities, groups of staff and students.
Wheelchair accessible, please be mindful of the access needs within your group.
Please note: you are able to participate in small groups, you can either come along as a group, or we can also put individuals together to form groups.
The second half of the event will see us regroup to understand support available for staff and students via two short presentations from the Central Wellbeing Team and LUU. There will also be stands featuring Wellbeing Champions, LUU colleagues, the Central Wellbeing Team, third party organisations and Occupational health and time for networking.
3. ‘What does mental health mean to me?’ – online and recorded
Open to all AHC, LUBS and FSS Staff

A repeat of the in-person panel event to enable engagement and accessibility. This session will be recorded and shared with all Hub staff.
