Health Systems for Health Security workshop

Are you interested in how global health systems have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and how we can strengthen our ability to manage health emergencies?

The World Health Organization and University of Leeds are hosting an open Workshop on Health Systems for Health Security in the context of COVID-19 and the post-pandemic “new normal” (see specific details on website).

In light of COVID-19 and the global context post-pandemic, the workshop will concentrate on the concept of health systems for health security. The objectives of the workshop are as follows:

  1. Introduce the new WHO Health Systems for Health Security framework developed by WHO and partners
  2. Share country and expert experiences and lessons learnt, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, vis-à-vis strengthening health systems (e.g. the building blocks) for health security and vice-versa
  3. Review and discuss key areas for strengthening health systems for health security capacity in countries and establish a global network for Health Systems for Health Security

Joining details

The workshop will take place virtually using the Zoom video conferencing network.

The workshop will have opportunities for Q and A, discussion and input on the new WHO framework and associated research agenda (see website for programme details). There will be scheduled breaks throughout event.
