This Faculty brings together experts in education, sociology and social policy, politics, international relations, international development, law and criminology to deliver teaching and research through the following schools.

The Faculty's research in the social sciences is internationally rated. We host major research and interdisciplinary centres. Our students and staff also benefit from excellent links with key international organisations and institutions.

Research and expertise
A key part of the Faculty’s mission is to tackle some of the important societal challenges currently facing the world through interdisciplinary work, enabling greater knowledge exchange and research opportunities within and beyond the social sciences.
The faculty is home to the cross-faculty Leeds Social Sciences Institute, which has an important role in driving forward the research and innovation agenda in this area.
