BBC Science Clips

In 2003, following consultation with teachers, the BBC commissioned the production of a major new resource, 'Science Clips', to support primary science, particularly the development of children's conceptual understanding.

This resource included programmes for transmission, DVD and print materials and website activities. Following the success of Science Clips, a second series, 'Science Clips Investigates', to support the teaching of scientific enquiry, was developed.

Both resources were informed by research into teaching and learning, linked to QCA teaching units, emphasised links to the 'real world' and aimed to stimulate children's thinking and activity both in and out of the classroom.

Hilary Asoko worked closely with staff from the BBC, providing advice on content, approach and curriculum relevance.
