Towards an evidence-based understanding of student careers ambitions and needs: the case of criminology

This body of research has been established to examine the ambitions and needs of undergraduate students, specifically within the contexts of criminology. It addresses a series of assumptions commonly held about criminology students and their desire to enter criminal justice careers, as well as their motivations to engage with careers support measures in achieving their careers goals.

The research also aims to capture the evolution of student career plans and the factors that influence their decisions in this regard. The research comprises several phases, including the completion of a literature review and the dissemination of a survey amongst various criminology cohorts.

It is hoped that the research will contribute to the future design of criminology employability provision in a meaningful and evidence-based fashion.
