Professor Mark Priestley conferred as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences
In October the Academy of Social Sciences conferred the award of Fellow on 84 leading social scientists including Professor Mark Priestley.
Mark has been recognised for his pioneering work in the field of disability studies following a peer review process looking at the excellence and impact of his work through the use of social science for public benefit. He now joins around a thousand individual fellows who are part of the Academy.
The Academy of Social Science is the national academy of academics, composed of around a thousand individual fellows, 41 learned societies, and a number of affiliate members, together representing nearly 90,000 social scientists. It aims to promote social science in the United Kingdom for the public benefit.
