Profile

I hold a bachelor’s degree in education, majoring in English Language Education, from Pattimura University, Ambon, Indonesia. Growing up in a small island community in Eastern Indonesia, I developed an early awareness of the structural inequalities affecting educational access and quality in remote areas.

To broaden my perspective, I pursued a master’s degree in international relations at Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung. This interdisciplinary training enabled me to engage with global issues of development, sustainability, and governance. After graduating, I worked as a protocol assistant at the Permanent Mission of the Lao PDR to ASEAN in Jakarta, gaining insight into regional cooperation and policy processes.

I currently serve as an English teacher at a junior high school in Central Maluku Regency. Since being appointed Head of Curriculum Affairs in 2023, I have been closely involved in curriculum implementation and adaptation, particularly in navigating the tensions between national education standards and local contextual needs. In parallel, I work with the Jaga Laut Indonesia Foundation (JALA INA), contributing to the Maritime School program and curriculum development. My experiences have shaped my research interest in the relationship between education, local knowledge, and environmental change, particularly in coastal communities.

My current study aims to explore how curriculum and pedagogy can better support ecological sustainability, community resilience, and locally grounded knowledge in small-island contexts.
