Profile

After graduating from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with my LL.B, I turned to the practice of law and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya after nine months of chambering. I then joined the civil service as a judicial officer. There, I served as Senior Assistant Registrar at the High Court in Penang and as Magistrate at the Butterworth Magistrate's Court (Penang) and Sri Manjung Magistrate's Court (Perak). I also served as Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Penang State Legal Advisor’s Office, the Attorney-General's Chambers of Malaysia in the Prosecution Division, and the Kuala Lumpur Prosecution  Office.

Research interests

My research focuses on the role of prosecutors in the Malaysian criminal justice system and prosecutorial values such as independence, transparency and accountability, focusing on money laundering investigations and trials. I want to explore the ethical and professional standards that guide prosecutors, particularly how these principles influence decision-making, case management and public confidence. I am interested in examining how the role of the prosecutor relates to crimes and analyzing how prosecutors approach different types of crime.
