Profile

I joined the school of education in November 2023 as a Research Fellow specialising in evaluation research. Prior to that i worked in the Department of Education at the University of York as a Research Associate managing evaluation trials. Primerially i work on large research trials focused on raising attainment of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. I also work on evaluations of place-based interventions which consider wider systems change. I work across a number of specialisums inclusing speech, language and communication, literacy, maths and also childrens mental health from the early years, primary, and secondary through to post-16. 

Research interests

I have a particular interest in Early Years, professional development, speech,language and communication and place-based research. I and the Principal Investigator of evaluations of place-based research; Early Talk for York, Bristol Early Language and the Marigold Project, and I am currently Principle investigator of the Efficacy Trial of Peer-to-Peer Coaching and the Pilot Trial of Pan, Do, Review, both Funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). Alongside this i am also Co-Investigator on a number of Efficacy Trials including Concept Cat, Communication Friendly Settings and Writing Roots (funded by the EEF).
