Profile
I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Leeds, School of Education. My research explores how relative value different stakeholders have around secondary school pathways (science pathway and literary pathway) shape students’ self-esteem. Therefore, an identity framework is used as an analytical lens that would allow me to explore in-depth what perceptions students have of themselves regarding educational pathways and how these perceptions are influenced by their border social structure inside and outside the school. Since my study is emotionally focused, the concept of self-esteem is included as an important emotional outcome of students’ engagement in the educational pathways relative values.
