Background
I graduated from Mehmet Akif Ersoy University holding a bachelor degree in Elementary School Education in Turkey in 2013. I obtained a master degree in School of Education at University of East Anglia in 2016.
What motivated me to undertake PhD study?
There are two main reasons I decided to pursue a PhD. Firstly, it will have significant effect on my career. Secondly, I would like to improve my knowledge about educational assessment and data analysis.
What makes me passionate about my subject?
I am interested in educational assessment because I believe that correct interpretation and analysis of the assessment process is important elements that enhance the quality of education.
What are my plans once I have completed my PhD?
I am on a scholarship from Ministry of Education, Turkey. After my PhD I will work for Ministry in the field of Educational Assessment.
Research interests

The purpose of my study is to find out the effects of socio culture and economic factors’ overall impact on educational results around the Turkey based on Pisa data. Moreover, it is aimed to find out the effect of school types on PISA results. In my study I will try to answer following two questions;
- Up to what extent do socio economic and cultural factors impact on PISA results?
- Is there any impact of school types on PISA results?
