Profile

I’m Rachid Meftah, an EFL teacher with rich experience spanning over 12 years. I completed my MA degree in TESOL as a Chevening Award scholar at Birkbeck, University of London. Currently, I’m pursuing a PhD in education at the University of Leeds. My research interests and expertise lie within the areas of foreign language emotions, motivation and language performance. I’m looking at the impact of emotions and motivation on language performance for my PhD project. I’m a current member of the editorial team of the Hillary Place Papers (HPP)–the online journal of the School of Education at the University of Leeds.

Research interests

I’m interested in the areas of foreign language emotions, motivation and language performance, and I’m looking at these from a ‘positive psychology’ view.
