Profile

I started my undergraduate education at the Faculty of Education, Eskisehir Osmangazi University, by studying General Classroom Teaching. I applied for a double major in the Department of Teaching for the Special Educational Needs and got accepted; Therefore, I attended the modules of both departments. I graduated from Classroom Teaching and  Special Education Teaching. I worked as a special education teacher for 5 years. During this process, I had the opportunity to teach students with specific learning difficulties and autism.

I completed my master's degree in Special Educational Needs at the University of Leeds. In my master's thesis, I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Paula Clarke and I had studied teachers' perspectives on dynamic assessment of reading, which was designed to evaluate and identify students with specific learning difficulties in early ages.

My research interest focuses on specific learning difficulties, especially the reading and writing skills of students with dyslexia. In my doctoral thesis, I would like to help students with reading problems write better quality and structured texts by focusing on their writing skills.
