Matt has worked in international education for over 15 years, teaching at a universities in China, Singapore and the UK. 

A specialist in academic skills and language teaching, Matt has coordinated a number of programmes, preparing international students for university and supporting them on their studies.

While taking a part-time PhD at Leeds, Matt is also a Principal Lecturer responsible for language and academic skills modules at his institution.

Research interests

Matt’s research interests involve international students and their motivation.  Having previously research student-destination choice and its links to motivation, for his PhD Matt is exploring International Posture and how this can be increased among Chinese students studying on franchised degree programmes within China.
