Professor Shildrick was one of the speakers at an event organised by CLASS (Centre for Labour and Social Studies) and Unions Together held in Newcastle on 13th March.

The event 'The great British Rip Off: How can we tackle the cost of living crisis' was chaired by Ian Lavery MP and included a range of speakers addressing issues around the current cost of living crisis.

Tracy presented her research around the low pay, no pay cycle and stressed the importance of improving both the quality and quantity of jobs.

Her work highlights the importance of in-work poverty as well as drawing attention to some of the policy solutions around poverty pay.
