Kirsteen is a Lecturer in Urban Sociology and her research interests include class, gentrification and displacement and privatisation of neighbourhoods and housing. Her latest article looks at how the Red Road flats have become a byword for urban decline, deprivation and unpopular housing and argues that we should not let the demolition of the Red Road flats represent the end of social housing in the UK.
