SSP students celebrate success at December graduation ceremonies

Students in the School of Sociology and Social Policy graduated from masters and PhD programmes in December ceremonies.

Over the course of two ceremonies, more than 200 students graduated from masters and PhD programmes delivered by the School of Sociology and Social Policy. The ceremonies took place on campus in the Great Hall and began with an opening speech by Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Paul Johnson. Graduands were then announced by Head of School, Professor Karen Throsby, and called on stage to be presented with their degree certificate in front of family, friends and SSP staff.

After the ceremonies, a reception for graduating students, their guests and staff took place in the Student Union Refectory.

The reception also included a prize giving ceremony and winners were presented with their certificates by Professor Throsby.
