Monitoring UK aid: the role of the UK parliament International Development Select Committee and the Independent Commission for Aid Impact

Do you have questions about the UK’s approach to development assistance?

Do you know how MPs oversee the UK government’s work on aid? Perhaps you have thoughts on the activities of the UK Department for International Development through your research or previous employment?

RidNet is pleased to announce a seminar with Fabian Hamilton, Labour Member of Parliament for Leeds North East. Fabian is a member of the parliamentary International Development Select Committee, and chair of the Sub Committee on the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI).

Fabian will give an introduction to the work of the committee and ICAI for about 30 minutes, following which there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Professor Gordon Crawford has very kindly agreed to chair the session.

This is a great chance to learn more about current thinking in UK development assistance and to share your ideas.

Feel free to bring your tea or coffee – we will provide the biscuits!
