Dr Patricio Simonetto will be participating in the panel “Uncovering Trans Histories” as part of the VI London Festival of Queer Spanish Culture (Festival de Cultura Queer en Español en Londres).
This panel brings together researchers from Spain and the UK to explore trans histories across the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, from the early modern period to the twentieth century. Patricio Simonetto will join Mónica Morado, Pablo Ferrer Cobelo, and Alba M. Gálvez in a conversation that highlights the importance of recovering overlooked histories and preserving queer and trans memory.
The panel forms part of the VI London Festival of Queer Spanish Culture, taking place from 2 to 26 November 2026 across London. Organised by Romancero Books CIC, the festival features 17 events spanning cinema, literature, music, performance, research, and queer memory. This year's programme explores themes including the legacy of Federico García Lorca, trans histories, lesbian lives during Spain’s Second Republic, and queer archives from Spain and Latin America.
The festival is supported by the Embassy of Spain in London and Instituto Cervantes London, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting queer culture, scholarship, and community.
A fantastic opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and important conversations about LGBTQ+ histories, memory, and representation.
