Real Life Methods

Real Life Methods is part of the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods. We are carrying out research into, and with, methods that aim to grasp the multidimensionality of lived experience and enhance social explanation.

The research is based in the areas of community, youth and family. The research programme is made up of four projects and a programme of cross-cutting activities that link and extend them.

Real Life Methods also offers a programme of training and capacity building. We run training workshops and seminars for the academic social science community, for research users, policy makers and practitioners.

1Real Life Methods is a joint project with colleagues at the University of Manchester.
