Full Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a Home (UK) student.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree at 2:1 or above from the University of Leeds.
  • Have made a significant contribution to citizenship (eg. acted as School or Course Rep or School Ambassador etc).
  • Commence study on a masters degree in the School of Sociology and Social Policy in September 2022.

Conditions

Scholarship offers cannot be deferred.

You must not already hold a qualification at masters level.

You must also meet one of the following financial criteria:

  • Graduated 2019 or later - be able to evidence that you were in receipt of a maintenance loan equal to or greater than the following values for one year of study:

Studying outside London and not living in the parental home

  • Graduated 2016 or later - be able to evidence that you received a Maintenance Grant/Special Support Grant/Assembly Learning Grant/Welsh Government Learning Grant/SAAS Bursary for at least one year of study. 
  • Graduated 2015 or earlier - be able to evidence individual, gross taxable income during the 2017/18 tax year of no more than:  £35,528 if you lived in the Greater London region OR £24,370 if you lived anywhere else in the rest of the UK.

How are the scholarships awarded?

Decisions are based on the quality of your supporting statement which should demonstrate a significant contribution to citizenship during your undergraduate studies at the University of Leeds. Successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship offer by email within four weeks of the closing date. If you have not heard from us by this point unfortunately you have not been successful.
