SSP Research Seminar: “Brexit and the social uses of EU and national citizenship: UK, EU27 and third-country nationals in the UK and Belgium”

We are delighted to welcome Dr Djordje Sredanovic to the SSP Research Seminar to present his work.

Speaker bio:

Djordje Sredanovic is a F.R.S.-FNRS research fellow at the GERME laboratory and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He has obtained his PhD from the University of Padua, and has worked also at the University of Bologna and the University of Manchester.

A sociologist specialising in citizenship and migration, Sredanovic has worked on the meanings and uses of citizenship among migrants and local factory workers in Italy, the implementation of citizenship policies in Belgium and the UK, the comparative study of citizenship policies, the representation of migrants in the media, and asylum policies in Italy. He is currently working on the impact of Brexit on the meanings and values of EU and national citizenships among UK citizens, EU27 citizens and third country nationals in the UK and Belgium.

His work has appeared, among other venues, in Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, International Political Science Review, Citizenship Studies, International Migration, and Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies.
