Profile
I am a Lecturer in Social Policy (Teaching & Research) specialising in migration, inequality and welfare and ethnographic research. I have conducted research in the UK and in the Czech Republic, with a focus on migration, welfare and work, ethicity, exclusion, populism, and the state. I am a convener of the Anthropology of Labour network, one of the networks of the European Association of Social Anthropologists.
I have previously worked with the third sector on health inequalities of Roma migrants and recently I have worked with the UK BME Anti-slavery Network on creating resources for migrants working in adult social care in the UK.
Research interests
My research interests revolve around welfare, inequality, work, care, and exclusion with a specific focus on migrants. I am interested in the relationship between the state and its residents, and in the processes involved in the development and implementation of policy.
