Profile
I am a visiting academic in the School of Sociology and Social Policy. My research is academic and applied in nature, covering key areas of social policy, political science and economic sociology.
Research interests
Overall, my programme of research is animated by the following questions: what is the relationship between social policy, welfare politics and inequality? And considering this relationship, how should welfare (state) interventions be configured to effectively tackle poverty and disadvantage? To explore these questions, I have undertaken national and comparative research drawing on mixed methods approaches to critically examine the impact of state-citizen dynamics on human welfare across high-income countries.
