Dr Shruthi Venkatachalam

Profile

As a research Fellow, I am currently working in a project focused on knowledge exchange and impact strategy within a broader research program addressing Domestic Abuse and Violence and Multiple Sclerosis. The project includes the development of a toolkit for practice for Health Care Professionals. My work draws upon insights from victim/survivor knowledge, integrating theoretical frameworks with practical applications, and contributing to policy and practice development.

Research interests

My research interest focuses on investigating the perpetration of violence and abuse against disabled women. My approach prioritises foregrounding the voices and representation of disabled women survivors navigating intersecting forms of discrimination. I am particularly drawn to theories of justice, intersectionality, social power dynamics, and feminist reflexive methodologies.
