Profile

My doctoral research aims to analyze Mexico's post-2000 democratic transition, specifically in the urban local context. To achieve this goal, I have used a political ethnographic approach to investigate the dynamics between citizens and the government through a participatory mechanism called social councils. Implementing this methodology aims to discover and explore citizens' perceptions, negotiation strategies, and levels of engagement. Additionally, I aim to uncover alternative forms of community organization that extend beyond conventional formal participation spaces.
