Profile

I am Asila Alzari from Oman. I work as a lecturer in the sociology department at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat. I am delighted to begin my doctoral adventure at the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds thanks to a full scholarship being granted by Sultan Qaboos University.

As a dedicated researcher in the subject of sociology, I have committed my life to learning about and comprehending society dynamics. My time spent working as an academic at Sultan Qaboos University has given me invaluable perspective on the difficulties involved in doing and teaching sociological research.

My dedication to gaining greater understanding of the world and dealing with serious social issues has always influenced my academic career. I am thrilled to be a part of the University of Leeds' vibrant academic community, where I intend to participate and expand sociological knowledge.

I am incredibly appreciative to Sultan Qaboos University for giving me the chance to complete my doctoral studies at the University of Leeds. This scholarship not only supports my academic aspirations but also reflects the university's dedication to fostering educational excellence and research innovation.

Research interests

My research interests are broad and include a variety of sociological issues, such as society health, social policy, political community engagement, and community resilience. During my PhD studies, I am excited to explore new social research horizons and contribute to the academic conversation in these fields.
