- Funder: European Agency for Fundamental Rights
- Value: €60,000
- Primary investigator: Professor Mark Priestley
- External co-investigators: M. Zwamborn (Human European Consultancy) S. Grammenos (Centre for European Social and Economic Policy)
This was part of a larger EU-FRA initiative to assist EU institutions and Member States to ensure that the right of people with disabilities to live independently and be included in the community is fulfilled.
The specific input involved the conceptualisation and operationalisation of outcome indicators of independent living using EU data sources, based on Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Impact
The indicator components developed through this research were published by the FRA and selected items utilised as evidence in their advocacy and opinion supporting independent living rights for disabled people in Europe.
