Profile

I am a Research Assistant in International Higher Education and Digital Learning in the School of Education at the University of Leeds. I graduated as a high school mathematics teacher from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 2011 after which I taught at a rural secondary school in Mpumalanga, South Africa. I furthered my studies in mathematics education by completing a BSc (Honours) in Mathematics in 2014. In 2015, I received a scholarship from the Swedish Institute to study at Stockholm University and graduated with an MSc in International and Comparative Education in June 2017.

Research interests

I am interested in the link between education and democratic participation, the operationalisation of complexity theory and the use of visualisation and mapping techniques to represent issues in education. Methodologically, I have a background in statistics and a growing interest in data science and the analysis of analytics to inform policy and practice.
