Samyia Ambreen

Profile

My area of expertise lies in the field of Primary and Early Years Education. Before coming to Leeds, I was teaching modules on BA and MA Education program in a public university in Pakistan.

Research interests

My research interest lies in the classroom based participatory research. My doctoral research was about exploring the nature of pupils’ interactions during their classroom based group work. It was an ethnographic exploration in which I involved a long term participatory field work to involve children in research and explore their perceptions of group work. I also conducted small-scale action based research projects with primary teachers and practitioners in Pakistan to explore their perceptions of introducing child-centred learning approaches in early years and primary classrooms.
