I am from Malaysia and came to University of Leeds to study my PhD in Education. My area of research is in education testing and measurement.
I got my MA degree from University Kebangsaan Malaysia in educational measurement and evaluation.
I have been a science and mathematics teacher for 8 years before joining an administration team specialising in managing exams, assessment and award for teacher training institution.
What motivated me to undertake PhD study?
The curiosity and the unsatisfied feeling that I get when explore the current information on this area of study. I am seeing a PhD study as a journey where you will always find something new and which will lead you to a new curiosity that you enjoy to explore everyday.
What makes me passionate about my subject?
I enjoy developing and exploring the educational measurement areas as I am seeing that the good education measurement will give a fair opportunity for a student to develop their ability to the limits.
What are my plans once I have completed my PhD?
I want to continue doing research in the area that I love.

Much of this research stems from concern about graduating quality teachers who can make a positive difference to student learning. How well are these teacher quality in teacher students’ are recognized and acknowledge through their degree qualification? Thus, there is a need to develop an instrument as a checkpoint to measure teacher students’ knowledge especially in their specialized subject matter knowledge during the program.
